SUMMARY:HR Forum: FMLA Presentation by Dept. of Labor
DESCRIPTION:Join us for an educational presentation on FMLA\n\nFor over thirty years\, the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA) has offered millions of workers protected leave to care for their families and tend to their own health. \n\n \n\nSince the FMLA was enacted\, the U.S. DOL's Wage and Hour Division (WHD) has helped thousands of workers whose rights were violated under the FMLA and as a result has recovered $63 million in back wages for affected workers. The WHD is committed to elevating FMLA awareness\, accessibility\, and education. To that end\, this presentation will provide a comprehensive overview of the FMLA using real world examples to highlight common compliance concerns on topics such as:\n\n	determining employee eligibility requirements\n	qualifying reasons for leave\n	and rights and responsibilities under the Act\n	We will also show you how to find the most up to date resources and information on the FMLA to help you stay in compliance.\n\n \n\nObjectives\n\nAt the end of this presentation attendees:\n\n	will be able to identify when employees have a potential qualifying need for family medical leave\n	will have a better understanding of common violations of the FMLA and how to avoid them\n	will be able to find FMLA resources.\n\nRegistration appreciated
